Registered Dietitians - Regulated through a provincial government regulatory body, Registered Dietitians are the ultimate professional source for nutrition information. Dietitians hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a university and have completed an intensive internship in the community. Dietitians are the only professionals who can use the titles “Registered Dietitian”, “Professional Dietitian” and “Dietitian”, which are protected by law. Registered Dietitians are equipped to translate complex nutrition science into healthy eating messages for those wanting to maximize health and performance, and control disease. Individual nutrition services offered by a Registered Dietitian are often covered by extended health plans.
CSEP Personal Trainers and Exercise Physiologists - The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) is the Gold Standard in exercise science and personal training. This means that every CSEP Exercise Physiologist® and CSEP Certified Personal Trainer® has a diploma or degree recognized by a provincial Ministry of Education. CSEP members are covered by professional liability insurance. CSEP is the only agency in Canada whose certified professionals are directly affiliated with the scientists/researchers who are experts in this field and CSEP members are required to maintain their skills and proficiency through continuing education. CSEP professionals are recognized by the titles “CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist and CSEP Certified Personal Trainer”. Personal training services are often covered by extended health plans.
