This workshop assists in defining assertive communication and the advantages and disadvantages. Skills and techniques that are helpful in communicating in an assertive manner will also be outlined.
Shift work can place added stress on individuals. This seminar will look at good vs. bad stress and how the body is affected. Coping mechanisms will be learned in order to deal with added stress. We will also discuss active living, what this means as well as the benefits of an active lifestyle in order to counter balance the effects of shift work.
Employees whose jobs involve shift work need a different strategy in order to balance nutrition. Such as the timing of meals and being in tune to the quantity of food needed for everyday, physical training and the night shift. We will look at shift work as it relates to: circadian rhythms, health risks, sleep, alertness/fatigue and food choices and timing. Tips on menu planning, shopping tips and strategies to help eating out will also be discussed.

Standard First Aid with CPR In this 16 hour course, the following topics may be covered: introduction to the Red Cross; preparing to respond; the EMS system; check, call, care; airway emergencies; breathing & circulation emergencies; first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest; head & spine injuries; bone, muscle & joint injuries; wound care; sudden medical emergencies; environmental emergencies.
