Managing Change

They say change is good but it can also be stressful and challenging at times. This seminar looks how change can impact our relationships and how to best cope with change and deal with the challenges that may occur along with it.

Retirement

Typically, when people think about retirement, their first thought is about money. While sufficient financial resources are important, money is only one part of the equation for a happy and productive life after people stop working. This workshop will explore beyond the dollars and cents and consider the psychological and daily living changes that retirement brings.

Work-Life Balance

Are you in Balance? This workshop looks at our work and life balance, what that means, the consequences of being out of balance and strategies for improving our work life balance

Resiliency

This workshop provides an overview of Resilience, and the step's resilient people take to work through life‘s challenges.

Assertive Communication

This workshop assists in defining assertive communication and the advantages and disadvantages. Skills and techniques that are helpful in communicating in an assertive manner will also be outlined.

Shift Work and Lifestyle

Shift work can place added stress on individuals. This seminar will look at good vs. bad stress and how the body is affected. Coping mechanisms will be learned in order to deal with added stress. We will also discuss active living, what this means as well as the benefits of an active lifestyle in order to counter balance the effects of shift work.

Shift Work and Nutrition

Employees whose jobs involve shift work need a different strategy in order to balance nutrition. Such as the timing of meals and being in tune to the quantity of food needed for everyday, physical training and the night shift. We will look at shift work as it relates to: circadian rhythms, health risks, sleep, alertness/fatigue and food choices and timing. Tips on menu planning, shopping tips and strategies to help eating out will also be discussed.

True Colors workshops are approx. 2.5 hours in length and are available to groups from 3-20 persons.  

Standard First Aid Courses

Standard First Aid with CPR In this 16 hour course, the following topics may be covered: introduction to the Red Cross; preparing to respond; the EMS system; check, call, care; airway emergencies; breathing & circulation emergencies; first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest; head & spine injuries; bone, muscle & joint injuries; wound care; sudden medical emergencies; environmental emergencies. Includes level A, B, or C CPR. manual, certification card, and wall certificate. Maximum 15 people, cost is based on # of participants.

CPR

Level A - Workplace and Lay Rescuer

i. 4 hour course
ii. Includes manual, and certification card

Level B - Families, Parents, Public, Child Care Workers

v. 5 hour course
vi. Includes manual, and certification card
vii. Maximum = 15 people
viii. Cost = based on # of participants

Level C - Police, Fire, First Responders, Workplace First Aid Teams, Lifeguards

ix. 6 hour course
x. Includes manual, and certification card
xi. Maximum = 15 people
xii. Cost = based on # of participants

Level HCP (Health Care Provider) - Physicians, Nurses, Paramedics and Allied Health Care Providers (RT, OT, PT)

xiii. 6 hour course

Standard First Aid Re-certification

Prerequisite: those wishing to take this course must have recognized Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C certification dated within 3 years. If your certificate is expired, you cannot take this course. This is an 8 hour course and includes a certification card. There is a maximum of 15 people per class and the cost is based on # of participants.

CPR Re-Certification

Prerequisite, those wishing to take this course must have recognized CPR/AED Level C certificate dated within 3 years. If your certificate is expired, you cannot take this course. This 4 hour course includes a certification card. There is a maximum of 15 people per class and the cost is based on # of participants.

Child Care First Aid with CPR Level B

Do you need First Aid and CPR training for child care or early childhood education work, or simply want more knowledge concerning infants and children and how to handle emergencies at home? This comprehensive course will provide you with knowledge and practical experience in the following areas: cardiovascular emergencies for adults, children, and babies; CPR Level B, AED, choking, airway and breathing emergencies; prevention of disease transmission; sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine. This 16 hour course includes manual, and certification card. There is a maximum of 15 people per class and the cost is based on # of participants.
